The mission of Hendrickson Development is to act as an advocate for our clients and provide accurate, high quality information to develop and strengthen behavioral health, and long-term services and supports programs including behavioral health treatment, assistant living, dementia care, and Medicaid and other state funded programs for persons who have substance abuse, or mental illness issues or are aging, or have physical, intellectual and developmental disabilities.

 

About Leslie Hendrickson

Leslie Hendrickson Ph.D. is the Principal of Hendrickson Development.  He is a former Assistant Commissioner in the New Jersey Department of Health. Since leaving state government, during the past 20 years his work has encompassed medical and behavioral health treatment issues at local, state and national levels. For example, he has participated in state-wide assessments of mental health and substance abuse programs in Alaska, Oregon, Texas, Washington and West Virginia. Additionally, he has worked on cost and reimbursement issues for medical and behavioral health programs such as multiple revenue maximization projects for state health programs, a study of provider cost reports for the Florida Department of Children and Families, provider network analyses including behavioral health providers for the Colorado Division of Insurance, a rate setting study of Ohio home and community based services, a study of the impacts of privatizing the Utah State Mental Health Hospital for the Utah Legislature, a study of Medicaid behavioral health reimbursement rates for the state of Arkansas, setting reimbursement rates for particular providers e.g. the Conklin Center in Daytona Beach, and a cost analysis of Medicaid expansion options for the state of Utah and damage assessments due behavioral health program because of the actions of a governmental entity. Additionally, Hendrickson Development has performed approximately 90 needs assessments of behavioral health treatment programs, nursing facilities, assisted living programs and dementia units. Sine 2017 almost all work done has been under confidentiality arrangements with private treatment providers, lawyers or a federal agency.

His post- state government experience includes a year as a Visiting Professor at the Rutgers Center for State Health Policy.
